1Q24 Highlights

March 2024 | CCM

Thank you to all our blog subscribers for your ongoing interest in CCM. In 2024, we updated our blog to a quarterly edition with the goal of highlighting key quarterly firm and team activities. We are excited to share the 1Q24 blog and the many undertakings that took place at CCM in the first three months of the new year.

  • January 2024
    • Economic Outlook Webinar: Andy Kaufman, CCM’s CIO, discussed the firm’s views on interest rates, inflation, and general positioning. The webinar replay is available here.
    • 2023 Impact Report: Shared CCM’s 2023 Impact Report highlighting the importance of intentional investing, a central theme in CCM’s approach to its operations. A webinar featuring David Sand, CCM’s chief impact strategist, and Jessica Botelho, CCM’s director of impact and CRA research, followed the release of the report sharing impact investing updates and case studies. The replay is available here.

  • February 2024
    • First-Time Homebuyer Initiative: Launched a new impact initiative focused on first-time homebuyers. The new initiative looks to both invest in bonds (1) financing mortgage loans made to low- and moderate-income (LMI) and workforce first-time homebuyers and (2) programs helping first-time homebuyers with down payment assistance and other housing-related costs.
    • Black History Month: In honor of Black History Month, CCM’s DEI committee invited team members to a Black history and culture challenge, where team members shared fascinating historical and cultural facts. This year’s winner was Jenny Kwon. Jenny shared details on Jrue Holiday and The Jrue & Lauren Holiday (JLH) Social Impact Fund. In July 2020, Jrue pledged $5.3 million to launch a fund that provides grants and support to Black-owned businesses and nonprofits in underserved communities. Since 2020, the JLH Fund has provided $3m in grant funding to social impact entrepreneurs, provided over 400 hours of coaching to ensure grantees have tools to survive and thrive, and changed the landscape for 156 Black founders across 15 U.S. cities. The Holidays’ commitment to giving back to their communities and uplifting Black-owned businesses and nonprofits is a great example of how “sportsmanship” and “fame” go beyond personal achievement and should be an opportunity to blaze the way for others. More information on the JLH Fund can be found here.
    • CCM Team Onsite: CCM’s 3rd annual team onsite took place at our headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale. Team building creates a strong team through forming bonds and connections and we believe is beneficial to CCM with results that include increased communication, planning skills, employee motivation, and employee collaboration. Highlights of the 2024 team onsite included skits, trivia, and time to get know one another at dinner while enjoying the beautiful sunny South Florida winter weather.
  • March 2024
    • Story of Impact: Our 5th story of impact was shared featuring Beaverhead Villa in Dillon, Montana. Dillon is a chronically distressed community where 22% of the population live below the poverty line. Beaverhead Villa is an affordable rental housing property outside of a metropolitan statistical area.
    • OWNS: CCM assumed the advisory role for the CCM Affordable Housing MBS ETF (NYSE: OWNS).
    • Women’s History Month: In honor of Women’s History Month, CCM shared its 6th report on The Women of CCM. The report serves as a celebration of the firm’s ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where every individual feels valued, empowered, and supported in reaching their full potential.
